Brio Digital is partnered with a company in the financial services sector who are currently growing their mobile engineering function.
We are looking for a senior Android developer to support them as they build their mobile retail banking application.
Overview;
- Role; Senior Android developer
- Salary; £85,000-£100,000
- Location; London (2x/week)
Senior Android Developer Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust Android applications for the banking sector.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Implement and maintain secure, efficient, and scalable code using Kotlin or Java.
- Work with RESTful APIs to integrate with backend services.
- Ensure the quality and performance of applications through comprehensive testing and performance tuning.
- Automate and optimize the development process using CI/CD pipelines.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile development and banking applications.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
Senior Android Developer Experience:
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK and Android development tools.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.
- Understanding of secure coding practices, particularly in the context of financial applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with modern Android architectures (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture).
- Familiarity with mobile app security frameworks and best practices.
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for Android (e.g., Espresso, JUnit).
- Previous experience in agile development environments.
