Interim Head of Commercial Finance£450-500 per day – Outside of IR35 Aila is excited to be partnering with a Private Equity backed, software as a services (SaaS) technology business in the recruitment of a Head of Commercial Finance on an initial 3-month interim basis. This role will be on a remote basis, with no need to travel to their Head Office but there will be a need to attend meetings in London, and occasionally travel internationally too. This company has gone through an exciting growth period, have a group turnover of c.£35m and their technology reaches an impressive 5.5 million individuals daily, with 3.5 million of that in the UK alone.
With a new CEO having recently joined, this kicked off significant investment in new systems, processes, and products to capitalise on an already market-leading position, and although they’ve had a challenging 12 months, they’re excited about their growth into 2023 and have recently won the largest contract in their history.
This role is to provide expert financial and commercial advice to the Leadership team to drive financial performance through commercially sound decision making and analysis.
The successful candidate will need to be ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualified and have previous experience of working in a commercially focused role within a PE or similar highly leveraged environment. They must be able to develop strong relationships throughout the business and interpret volumes of data to deliver meaningful and impactful insights.
This role will suit a senior finance leader that is comfortable working in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Accountable for all financial aspects of client driven activities – P&L analysis, through gross margin, and commercially focused Opex
- Deal modelling – P&L and cashflow
- Analysis to improve commercial outcomes within the business e.g. product and client profitability analysis
- Business Partner to the Nordics business unit leader
- Budgeting and forecasting - complete month-end reforecast through engaging across departments
- Assist with Board Pack Reporting and additional financial analysis as requested by the Board
- Proactive and forward looking to establish a best-in-class finance function by improving processes and workpapers
- Ad hoc analysis and model building such as building a SaaS dashboard
To be successful in this role, you will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and have experience of operating as a number two, reporting to a Group CFO in a change environment.
